Paramedic - Certificate - 145

Purpose: The purpose is to provide knowledge, skills, and abilities for employment as an entry-level Paramedic.

Target Audience: Current EMT providers who would like to continue their education and earn the Paramedic certification.

Admissions Requirements: All students must be currently certified Emergency Medical Technicians with the Virginia Office of EMS or the National Registry of EMTs. Students must also produce a BLS Provider CPR credential that is in date to be eligible for enrollment in this program. The program requires additional expenditures for the student’s health assessment, immunizations, urine drug screen, criminal background check, student liability, uniforms, supplies, and equipment, which are required for clinical assignments.

Curriculum Requirements: Students must be currently certified by the Virginia Office of EMS as an EMT or AEMT to enter the program.

Total Minimum Credits: 42


Certification only as an EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic is available without completing general education courses. See Emergency Medical Services program page for details.
