Letter from the President

Welcome to Germanna Community College! Germanna was recently named the #1 community college in Virginia by www.wallethub.com and one of the top 150 community colleges in the country by the Aspen Institute.  We do everything we can to help you succeed in college and in life.  At Germanna, we love our students!

For the little more than 40 percent of the US population who have degrees, the research is very clear. Graduates earn more; are unemployed less; enjoy their jobs more; are healthier and live longer.  Not only is it better for you to graduate from Germanna, it’s better for your family and community.

We’ll always be here, guiding you in what you need to succeed both in college and life. Our small class sizes allow our caring faculty to provide the personal attention you need. We hope you will take advantage of our outstanding faculty, ACE Tutoring Center, Career and Transfer Center, counselors and advisors as well as Veterans’ Center.

Since Germanna opened its doors in 1970, we have worked hard to provide quality education, training and services to the citizens of Caroline, Culpeper, King George, Madison, Orange, Spotsylvania and Stafford Counties and the City of Fredericksburg. With more than 13,000 students a year, we remain committed to assisting each student one at a time, providing unique and personal care and support.

We offer over 30 programs in transfer and career and technical areas of study at our Fredericksburg Area Campus in Spotsylvania, Locust Grove Campus in Orange, Barbara J. Fried Center in Stafford, Culpeper Daniel Technology Center and at centers in Caroline County and Fredericksburg’s Central Park.  As important, are our extensive online and extension offerings throughout our region.

Thank you for trusting us to help you to write your own success story, now and forever.

Sincerely,

Dr. Janet Gullickson, President
