Purpose: The Engineering Associate of Science degree is intended for those who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a baccalaureate degree in engineering. The program provides students access to all Engineering courses so that if they aspire to prepare for a program that does not fall into one of the prescribed tracks, their experience can be customized. Students should consult their academic advisor and transfer institution before selecting elective courses.
Admission Requirements: All students must demonstrate college readiness through transcript review or informed self-placement. Based on this review, students may request or be required to enroll in prerequisite or corequisite math and/or English courses. For admission to this program, students must qualify for MTH 263 or above.
Pathways: Students should consult with an academic advisor to select the appropriate coursework for one of six pathways: Biomedical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical/Aerospace, or General Engineering.
Students should consult with an advisor to determine if their chosen transfer institution accepts online labs for credit toward major requirements.

Engineering Curriculum - Degree Requirements:
Student Development (1cr)
Written Communication (6cr)
Art, Humanities & Literature (6 cr.)
Choose any two courses (6cr) from the options below - selections must be from two different categories (PHI 220 may be required by Transfer College) Social & Behavioral Sciences (3cr)
Choose any UCGS Social & Behavioral Science from the courses below (ECO 202, PSY 200, or SOC 200 may be required by Transfer College) Natural Science (8cr)
Choose two (2) of the courses below Advising Pathway Specific Requirements (11-14cr)
- EGR 121: Foundations of Engineering
- Choose 3 EGR or CSC courses from the following: EGR 122, EGR 125, EGR 231, EGR 232, EGR 240, EGR 245, EGR 246, EGR 248, EGR 270, EGR 271, EGR 272, CSC 221, CSC 222, or CSC 223.
Prerequisites and Additional Degree Requirements (9-18cr)
Advising Pathway prerequisite courses for some universities (consult academic advisor) Additional Mathematics, Lab Science, Computer Science, or Engineering courses or CST 100 or CST 110. Any EGR, CSC 221, CSC 222, CSC 223, MTH 265, MTH 267, MTH 288, CHM 111, CHM 112, CHM 241/246, CHM 242/246, PHY 241, PHY 242, BIO 201, BIO 206 or GOL 105. Total Minimum Credits: 65-70
Students graduating from this program may be called upon to participate in a general education outcomes assessment during their last semester. Students must earn at least 65 credit hours to graduate with this degree to do so students may not be able to take only the minimum credit hours each semester. Third Semester
