Purpose: The Pre-BSN Specialization of the General Studies Transfer Degree prepares students for entry into a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. This curriculum incorporates the general education courses required by most BSN programs. Students completing this degree may fall into one of the following categories.
- When taken concurrently with the Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Nursing degree at Germanna, students in this curriculum can complete the first three years of a RN to BSN program prior to transfer
- This curriculum may also provide a program of study for students preparing to apply to the Associate in Applied Science in Nursing program at Germanna.
- Additionally this program provides Registered Nurses who are interested in pursuing RN-BSN programs at a four-year colleges or universities an opportunity to complete most General Education courses prior to transfer.
Like other transfer degree programs, students pursuing the Pre-BSN Specialization take courses that are accepted at most public four year institutions in a wide variety of baccalaureate degree programs. However, students are responsible for confirming the transfer options at their four year institution of choice.
Admission Requirements: All students will be required to demonstrate college readiness through transcript review or informed self-placement. Based on this review students may request or be required to enroll in prerequisite or corequisite math and/or English courses.
