EMS 111: Emergency Medical Technician


Credits: 7

Prepares student for certification as a Virginia and National Registry EMT. Focuses on all aspects of pre-hospital basic life support as defined by the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services curriculum for Emergency Medicine Technician.

Prerequisite(s): 16 years old at the start of class
Co-requisite(s) EMS 120 , EMS 100 , or Equivalent 
Prerequisites/Co-requisites: EMS 100 /equivalent Co-requisite: EMS 120

Total Hours: 9 hours per week
Students without American Heart Association CPR for Healthcare providers should enroll in the earliest HLT 105 possible in the semester.
