Letter from the President

Welcome to Germanna Community College! We know that you care both about the quality of your education and avoiding debt to pay for that quality.

Germanna is your smart choice for both! Two times in a row, Germanna has been recognized as one of the top 150 community colleges in the country by the Aspen Institute.  And, with multiple sources of financial assistance, you have the opportunity to experience that quality at greatly reduced costs.  Most importantly, we do everything we can to help you succeed in college and in life.  At Germanna, we love our students!

We’ll always be here, guiding you in what you need to thrive. Our small class sizes allow our caring faculty to provide the personal attention you need. We hope you will take advantage of our outstanding faculty, ACE Tutoring Center, Career and Transfer Center, counselors and advisors as well as the Veterans’ Center.

Since Germanna opened its doors in 1970, we have worked hard to provide quality education, training and services to the citizens of Caroline, Culpeper, King George, Madison, Orange, Spotsylvania and Stafford Counties and the City of Fredericksburg. With more than 13,000 students a year, we remain committed to assisting each student one at a time, providing unique and personal care and support.

We offer over 30 programs in transfer and career and technical areas of study online and at our Fredericksburg Area Campus in Spotsylvania, Locust Grove Campus in Orange, Barbara J. Fried Center in Stafford, Culpeper Daniel Technology Center and at Fredericksburg’s Central Park.  Our virtual education-go to school on your schedule not ours-provides online associate degrees and certificates as well as tutoring, library services and other student services.

Thank you for trusting us to help you to write your own success story, now and forever.

Sincerely,

Dr. Janet Gullickson, President
